YOOOOO

We haven't posted ages, there hasn't really been much going on so that's probably why, so here's an update.

Earlier last month we played with the Rotting Out / Broken Teeth / Survival show in Southampton with our good friends Nihility. Despite some problems before hand the show went really. The reaction we got was unreal, so cool to see people going crazy like they were in our home town. We played 3 new songs that went down well too. We're continuing to write for our next release, hopefully we can push to get something onto vinyl. The writing process will carry on from now over Christmas and into the new year, we struggle to find much time for us all to get together atm due to work but expect new things in the new year. Sound-wise the newer songs are heading towards a modern youth-crew sound, yet with the same older influences here and there that were put into the last demo.

In other news 2 of us, including other members of The UYC, Coalition & Outsider have a new band coming. We record in 2/3 weeks. FFO: 90's metal / death metal hardcore from Belgium. I think Savage Youth also have plans for that split with Hardout once Josh Gibbons has got over being a sap about knee #wawa

Our next show is the UYC XXX-mas show with all the bands below, how good is UK Straight Edge? After this we have nothing coming up immediately, but we hope to begin plans for some sort of summer tour (maybe Europe like we said before, just got to check funds and such to see if it's still possible). We also may be coming to Bristol next year for a UYC / BCHC band show with a couple from other places.

We've also now finally got our act together with these new shirts. They're up for pre-order now, any relevant information is on the page. We'll have them in with us to post out in maybe up to a month, but the quicker / the more people who order the sooner we can get it sorted. Southampton City Crest.

Tour Write Up

Just got in from tour, what a few days, this a diary / write up of what went on. We'll also soon be uploading some photo's we took.

20th July - Southampton
One of our last local shows for a while, it started a bit late due to a few issues which meant for some running around but was a cool a show. The turn out was poor for a Southampton show, especially considering the weather, however those who did come made a great day of it. Savage Youth had a good first show considering the circumstances around changing around how they set up not long before the show, Blind Authority & Story were both crazy good, sick bands with a message. There was also the older guy who came along from Reading, such a dude, so many raging punk fists flying through the air from him, sir you go hard. Enough played a sick set, they said about 3 times we only have a few left but kept going & going as the show was so sick, they played near enough the whole demo which made me happy. Between bands everyone hung out, it was hard.
Once the show was done we headed to mine to sleep (with Adam, Tyler & Nick who were joining us) once i'd sorted out Enough's place to sleep. We had to carry some of our drum shit, guitars, guitar cab & head over which took a while, I don't recommend ever doing that in the hot weather we've been having. We planned to have an early night as we had to be up early, but we ended up going to bed between like 1 & 3am. Myself & Adam didn't sleep until like half 2 when some Totalselfhatred eased us off.

21st July - Plymouth
Our driver Jack came & picked us up at 9am, we chose to leave so early as we wanted to go to the beach (the weather was amazing all day, sun sun sun). On the way we had a nice toilet break on the side of the road which had a nice view some hills in the sun, for me this was the moment realizing we'd actually come so far as to be doing a tour. We arrived at Dawlish beach at about midday, meaning we had 4 hours or so to have some fun. We ended up eating some unreal Donuts, playing one bounce one touch on the beach, chilling in the sea, having a football match (5 - 4 to the shirts) & climbing this cool hilly cave thing looking out over the sea. Some strong playlists were played in the van on the way too, shout out to them virtual moshpits. When we were done at the beach we headed to the venue, arrived with some time to hang out & get some snacks. Once we'd loaded in and gone through a new song idea & met up with Enough again, we had a big long game of one bounce one touch, Ben ended up being against the wall after each game more than anyone. We had some great laughs from the morning to the show, couldn't be happier.
It took a while to work our way round the city to the venue, there were tons of roadworks which took some extra time to navigate around. An Unfinished Life played a good set, some sick riffs in there. Considering this show was arranged due to the cancellation in Penzance the turnout was really good, the venue was pretty cool too considering this was one of the first few shows. I wanted to get myself a chili in the bar but no chefs were in yet, let down. Our set had some sound issues as Jamie's head didn't quite agree with the cab, despite that it went well considering. Sold a couple shirts. Now the night before Enough were sick, they didn't have time to play for as long tonight but they were 5x better, literally one of the best hardcore sets I've seen, the crowd was sweet too. Also, they played a surprise Slayer cover of Reign In Blood in full afterwards, once the tom's got smashed it went crazy, one of the best show moments at any hardcore show for me, they played it so so well.
After the show we packed up & drove to Newburry to stay at Jack's house, everyone slept on the way but I couldn't get comfy so stayed up listening to Lamb Of God & Balance And Composure. I think we got in at about 2.30am then didn't sleep for another while, he has a cool house with some cool punk shit, the Send More Paramedics sticker being my pick of the bunch.

22nd July - Leeds
After getting up early myself Nick & Ben walked into town for some food, Newburry was a really nice relaxed village. For breakfast I ended up having 2 kinder egg's, a bottle of apple / raspberry juice & 4 twisters, it was sick. I also bought a foam disk gun at pound-land, it was sick.We made our back & slowly got ready to go, it was so hot when we got in the van, it must of stayed at least 17 degrees over night or something because the van was scorching!
We arrived at the venue an hour or so before load in, we got some snacks quick when Sam arrived then proceeded to get gear for the show sorted. Considering this was Sam's first show it was fucking sick. Our pals in Square One played a really good set, Sob Story were 3x better than Saturday, Scorned the pit went pretty mental. I wasn't sure what to expect during No Island but they were so sick, I don't know why people haven't caught on to them more. When it came to our set one of the amps wasn't working, so we played with 1 guitar splitting the st first half & second half, so in the first i hit the pit, moshing to your own band is sick. We were all so surprised with the kind of reaction we got, the crowd went crazy. We also ended up selling a good bunch of merch & received some kind words which was great. During the show I also grabbed an 11" 4 cheese pizza for only £3, I dread to think what's in it, but if you're in search of cheap food in Leeds go to that pizza shop to the left of The Packhorse. The show ran really smoothly, we got to hang out with some friends, we got to meet some new people, a top quality day.
After the show we headed to where we were staying for the night which was a massive 12/13 bedroom house. An Unfinished life stayed over for a while too as well as some of the locals, AUL were cool guys & a cool band to hang out with over the 3 days. Hanging out with the guys at this was fun, playing Super Smash Bros on GameCube was a great time, moshing each other in the garden to beatdown's was a great time. Shout out to Stan, what a guy! We ended up going to sleep really late again due to a lot of pissing around & enjoying ourselves. Disgrace & Anguish (USA) were the relaxing bedtime anthems.

23rd July - Rotherham
We got up early but stayed in for a while as there was no rush to the show. We waved goodbye to Tyler as he was going to stay around Leeds with some mates. For me the funnest parts of the tour were in the van / sleeping or waking up, hangout out together has been really fun & hysterical. The weather for the day was a bit weird, it started rainy, then cleared up then rained again later in the day, a nice break from the heat though. Take To The Skies was the van playlist.
We arrived really early at the show so we got some food & hung around in town, before heading back & taking our stuff in. A lot of sofa mosh occurred, someone had a good playlist going on the ipod.
The show was cool, we weren't sure what to expect as there were a bunch of bands who aren't the sort we'd usually be on a show with. Dead Inside's Shattered Realm cover was cool, the Classical Young Brutes were sick, An Unfinished Life played there best show while we've been watching them. After us Snake Eyes from Scotland played, for their age I think they are a really good band, they're going to grow to be really really good (get ready to mosh). We nearly had to do our set with 1 guitar again but we managed to figure things out, the crowd reaction was great again & we were surprised with how crazy it got! We stayed a short time after to see Snake Eyes, sold some more merch & met a few of the locals before we had to go back to Southampton. Also, massive thanks to George for Jamie's birthday cake!
The drive back was decent, not as long as we imagined, even though it was sad to be going home it was fun reflecting on this experience & going over what we're gonna be doing next. I ended up sleeping on my own floor, too tired to walk to the bed room.

Thanks to: Jack for driving us, letting us sleep over & being a cool guy (recommended to hire), Tyler, Nick & Adam for being apart of the tour, Sam Coe, Dan Hamlyn / Shadowplay Records, The UYC & John Shaw / Josh Osinski for the shows, Stan for letting us stay over ("I haven't found your driver, but i have found connor"), service stations for always being there for every band, and hardcore for being hardcore.

We have a handful of hoodies left too in XL. Time for writing and planning more trips around places, thanks.

July 16, 2013

So we finally have the new demo songs mixed, thanks to Ben Lodge (though you are a lazy shit). Go have a listen now and let us know what you think. The ideas are flowing for the next release already, looking forward to this!

http://noexcuse.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2013

And we posted last night but our Sunday show in Penzance for tour got cancelled, but we've thankfully managed to figure a show out for Plymouth. It will also still be with Enough, can't wait to play some shows with them. We can't thank Daniel Hamlyn enough for saving this! I'm gonna write a tour diary kind of thing on each day too, either at the end of each day or just in one write up when we're back. We'll also have a good amount of merch at these shows: the last of the Charlie Brown & Sailor shirts, the new Logo hoodies, and i still have a bunch of Rage! Hardcore shirts that i'll be selling for £2 (if you're unaware i put out Feral Youth / No Excuse / Demonwomb / Foreseen & Rough Justice on the label, wrote & distributed some zines).

PS - check out Jamie & Ben's new band Savage Youth when you get the time, we're coming to Europe next summer with Pantah of Holland, and the guy who stage dived during our set at UYC Fest thanks for being the first to dive to us! And we've had 2 write up's on us today, check it out!

July 14, 2013

So this time next week we start doing our first tour. Southampton, Penzance, Leeds & Rotherham. This is all our first hardcore band & we range from the ages of 15 - 20. We're all really happy with what we've achieved so far for what this band is. This is the last run of shows before we slow down on playing live to write the next full release to follow on from the new demo (see the bandcamp). Come out if you're around these places & wanna come see us. Come buy these last pieces of merch, come have a chat too us, etcetc. None of us imagined we'd ever be at the stage of travelling around playing just some shows around the UK, so cheers to anyone who has shown interest or helped out the band in any way. We're currently putting some plans together to come over to Europe for a week next summer with a band from the mainland, more news on that later in the year if all goes to plan. We're also in talks with some of our friends bands about a possible UK weekender next year. Fingers crossed we can also sort out the trip to Ireland too. See you next week.

Also, apparently the final mixed versions of the demo songs will be with us the next few days, check that out when it's ready. It'll be the last you here from us until we're finished with the new stuff.

July 09, 2013

Hoodies have arrived. Orders will be posted over the coming week. Others we'll sort with the people & the few left over will only be available on tour.

Also we're now going to be spending a while writing new stuff, in this period we won't be doing any new shows. Come see us before we take a bit of a break from shows.

There's also some positive plans about coming overseas in 2014, keep an eye out.

DEMO 2013

We just uploaded a rough version of the new demo. The full mastered version will be online soon, and information regarding the tapes through Shadowplay will also be posted around soon!

Next show is UYC Fest tomorrow, a new cover & one we've done recently too plus playing the new songs. BOUNCE AROUND.

http://noexcuse.bandcamp.com/

June 26, 2013

So yesterday we recorded the 2 new demo songs. The more we write the better songs are getting, we love what we have done with these songs & can't wait to show people. Following this we begin writing for the next proper release from next on-wards until we are happy with what we have got. We're all young guys and this is all our first hardcore band so we're learning a lot about actually making songs & how to go about recording them, we all know A & A was poorly done, however this time round & in the future we know what the deal is with what is at our disposal. If you enjoy the new stuff get excited for what we do next as it's going to be coming from a very similar line. We also hope to have release information soon from Shadowplay on the tape, with is only being 2 songs these will be super limited!

Another note, hoodies will be with us next week, sorry for the delay but some of us who have been sorting it out have had a million other things going on with other hardcore stuff & moving house. As soon as we have them we'll post them out / contact you for you to collect at a show, any leftovers will be brought to shows.

PS - big shout out to Alex Lockheart to helping out fill in for Jamie on the recording, circumstances meant he couldn't come along unfortunately. We only found out Jamie had to cancel at 8/9am in the morning when Jonny & Callum had work up prematurely from the UYC show the night before. Our recording session began at 5pm. So we discussed it for an hour or two while panicking, eventually we sorted out Alex helping us out. The songs aren't hard to play but considering he had only heard them once live, and learn them in the space 6 hours via facebook videos & a quick bedroom session while also getting himself to town to record was great!

June 21, 2013

A month from now we'll be on our first tour, to of organised a short trip off of what we've done so far is cool and we're looking forward to getting out to 3 new cities. We're playing with a decent amount of bands that aren't from the hardcore scene on some shows, it'll be cool to play to some new types of people! The new demo is coming along slowly, and we're currently in the process of getting these hoodies printed up too.

The next show for us is Icebreaker Fest in Birmingham next month, we've almost go somewhere to stay for the 2 nights now I think. Looking forward to this!

June 02, 2013

Over the next week or two we record 2 new songs for a new demo. It will be released online (late June), and physically by Shadowplay Records (late July). Photograph by Kristianne Drake. Artwork by Sam Coe. This is a build up to our next full release, can't wait to continue the writing process!

We're also going to be planning a trip to Ireland at the end of the year / start of next year. Keep an eye out for that!

Our tour on July 24th has now fallen through, if anyone could help us out with anything get in touch.

June 01, 2013

2 of us have started a metalcore side project. We've quickly wrote a 5 song demo before we sit down and take our time to write a proper release. Songs will be online over the coming weeks, check the page below! Another 2 of us have a out & out youth crew band coming along, and another 2 of us have a euro style beatdown band in the works. Busy busy busy.

May 31, 2013

Last nights show was great, massive thanks to OTDH for being so supportive of us and also The UYC. Was cool hanging out with them and talking about the current scene, and how things were different when they first started 7 years ago.

So yeah, the new hoodies are now up for pre-order. £23 including postage or £18 to collect in person / at a show. Pre-orders will last 2 weeks before we order them, so if you are interested order a hoody asap to guarentee your size.

Over the next couple of weeks we'll be recording 2 new songs to bridge the gap between Anger & Abstinence and our last release. It's just going to be an online demo, possibly with a short physical release, trying to confirm this up atm. We feel we're writing a lot better songs now, so we're wanting to get these out for people to hear what we have in-store for the future.

Also, this is our next show. Looking forward to the Icebreaker weekend in Birmingham!

May 30, 2013

Local show with Our Time Down here tonight, last show until July.

Before we leave we'll also be putting these new hoodies up for pre-order (around 4pm). All the info will be on the store link below the picture.

Recording 2 new songs soon too before the next proper release! Keep an eye out for the new stuff.

May 09, 2013

We're a vertically challenged group of guys, and we like our pizza with BBQ sauce on it.

May 08, 2013

Had a practice tonight at Callum's. The 2 new songs are ready for the next show, hopefully people enjoy them as we're getting closer to finding OUR sound. We're building up other ideas too ready for our next release to further progress the style of these songs, news when we decide what we're gonna do. Unfortunately one of the covers won't be ready due to restrictions in practice time, however the other is ready, again we've been limited with practice time recently so pleased with the way it's come out!

Also, two of us are now heading up to this on the weekend, coach up early morning, coach back really late at night after the show. Some friends of mine have organised it, and it involves most the bands this group of guys are involved with, even if you're not into the kind of bands playing (you must have a screw loose) you've got to respect the efforts gone into making so many bands happen as many of these bands have same members.

Note: Repentance play instead of Survival

May 04, 2013

This our next show, under 2 weeks away. Line up is full of some of the best UK bands and the new band Hardout from Essex, that song is cool. We'll have 2/3 new songs for this show, and 1/2 covers (an oldie and a more modern song). Really enjoying the style we've found now, A&A was a bit rushed writing wise as we just wanted to get productive and in the process of writing songs since Jonny joined, so we didn't really sit back to look at what we were doing. What Happened? was also an old song so overall there was a bit of a mixture of styles on it due to this & the previous factor to. We're now heading towards the kind of thing we all wana do and enjoy listening to outside of the band, can't wait to play these songs out when they're ready!

April 14, 2013

Tickets are now online for our show on Our Time Down here's final tour, it's the first date which is in Southampton.

They're only £4 in advance, come have some fun! It's also going to be our last show until July.

They've done a great deal for pop-punk in the UK (and the general scene in Southampton over the years) and are a good good band (also check out their old side project Absolute).

Made a massive sticker, what should I stick it on?

We're doing 2 new covers at our next show, come lose your mind.

April 09, 2013

All of the Rage! tapes are now ready, they'll begin posting from tomorrow (all existing orders will be posted tomorrow and thursday / friday. We have 7/8 of these left to sell, you'll get a random colour. Massive thanks to everyone who's ordered so far and picked up a Open Up Records version in Plymouth & London, we're now all sold out of them!

http://noexcuseuk.bigcartel.com/

April 08, 2013

Plymouth show the other night was a cool day out and show! The journey took us 6 hours for each journey (on the way and back). I don't think I'm in the right frame of mind to write a full report yet, still so tired out haha. So thanks to Fabian & Shadowplay for getting us on the show, the venue was cool, the turnout wasn't massive but we are pleased with the reaction we got and people seemed to enjoy themselves. The other bands were cool too, the Welsh guys were out of it haha. Hopefully we can make it back sometime!

Our next show is the Southampton Straight Edge show May 17th, we'll be doing some cool stuff.

April 05, 2013

We're playing Plymouth tomorrow, getting up early for a long journey, will be fun. We got some cookies for the road too, thanks Carys!

If you don't know about UYC Fest yet get to know, just 2 months left to get advanced tickets! - theuyc.bigcartel.com

April 03, 2013

So we played at The Old Blue Last in London last night, it was our first out of town show and without question the best this band has been apart of to date. We went to London pretty early in the day to chill, we went over to All Ages Records first and picked up a few records & books. We then met our mate Reid and went to grab some food, I made a pizza sandwich out of a few slices followed my a chocolate waffle for dessert, was sick. Once we'd eaten we went off walking around Tottenham Court Road looking at shops and stuff before going to the venue.
We got to the venue pretty early and just fucked around upstairs (like the kids we are), Owen & Kane eventually turned up so we hang out with them until all the bands started to arrive. Wolf Down eventually turned up so we gave them a hand with loading in, they had so much stuff! They also told us that True Valiance had been having van issues, but fortunately they were still able to make the show. I really like the new layout of the venue room, it works perfect for shows. Splintered and Splitknuckle played tight sets, for me Splitknuckle especially, I love their beatdowns and metal vibe. After we played our set people seemed to enjoy to have enjoyed it and were really respectful towards which was so cool to receive out the blue. True Valiance and Wolf Down sets both were both as hard and sincere as anything, top mosh was in order too from the diverse hardcore / punk crowd. Wolf Down also opened with a Leeway cover , shit, went, off.

Open Up have sent us 20 copies of their 40 to sell, they look really really cool so a big thanks to Stef. We're going to sell these at the upcoming shows we have in London & Plymouth, then at the Southampton Straight Edge Show in May. After these shows we'll put online if there are any left, or we may put them online after the 2 April shows, we'll see.

We've also just been announced for the Ice Breaker Fest Pre-Show. We're gonna be there all weekend, sick bands are playing on both shows, we're very excited for this one.

Today we had a laid back practice without drums as Josh couldn't make it, planned recording and a few other things.
We record for Anger & Abstinence this Friday late in the evening at Untapped Studios by Southampton Central train station. Bullet For My Valentine once did some recording there, I want to find out what release it was for! All the A&A songs are ready except one that some of us will be going over Wednesday as a final preparation. So the songs should be ready sooner than we thought!

A massive thanks to all the labels for their help & support, check out each at their respective link at the bottom. It's so cool to be apart of labels from all these places, especially to have been asked to be part of commitment, as it has been going for nearly 20 years doing so much for hardcore, releasing some of the best bands . The release show is May 17th, all labels will have their tapes for sale the following day. New songs from the tape will be uploaded to our bandcamp in April. A final thank you to Icebreaker Records who will be duplicating the tapes for us.

Yo! I thought it might be an idea to set up a blog, so we can post more stories / information and stuff without being so in your face as facebook can be. So from here you can expect to read regular updates with what we're, writes ups on shows / practice / tour, funny stories, photo's, anything band related.

In a 2/3 weeks we will be recording the new tape. It will consist of 6 songs lasting around 5-7 minutes. Above is the cover artwork done by Conor Dornan who also did the UYC Fest flyer, if you need someone to go to for some fast reliable work, he is the man.
As recording for Anger & Abstinence will be happening mid / end of May the songs will be ready way in advance of the release show, so new songs will start being put online from April ready for everyone to hear.
If you've not seen the release is being put out in the UK by Rage! Hardcore & Commitment Records, in Asia by Commitment Records, and in Europe by Open Up Records. There is also hoping on a release for South America in the works. Massive thanks to Mike, Stef and the others involved for the interest & help.

The release show will be happening in Southampton on May 17th w/ Abolition, Survival, Repentance & Hardout. This is possibly also the first Straight Edge show in Southampton which is cool. If you're around come along as we've managed to fill the rest of the line up with some awesome bands - http://www.facebook.com/events/158262234330462/?fref=ts

Apart from working hard to get the recordings ready we have recently been picking up some shows, and organised a tour in the summer to get the new songs around. Above you can see the highly respected paint skill of the one & only Owen Harrold. Below is a list of all the shows we have coming up atm. None of us drive so shows require us to use our own money to get coaches / trains / hire a van for tour, so if you like what we do it would be massively appreciated and help us to no end if you could pick up a shirt from the store.

Hopefully see you at a show soon.

Jonny.
